From the time I was an adolescent until my early 20s, what I knew of the Bible came primarily from Sunday School lessons during childhood. In Sunday School we read sections of scripture (mainly the same stories each year), and we were taught the morals of the stories.
Consider how many people lived at the time of Y’shua’s ministry and how few of them “got it.” Most who were closest to getting it were instead following the most popular teachings of the time and missing it.
About God: The Word “god” is translated from “Elohim” which means mighty one/almighty. God’s proper name is spelled YHWH (ancient Hebrew texts omits the vowels) with the most scholarly of sources translating it “Yehowah” (pronounced Yehovah)
